SEE surgeon Anthony Agadzi, MD stayed in Cap Haitien and worked with Haitian Drs Roney, Lucien and DuPuy. hosted by Haiti Marycare. Had clinic days in Roch Plate, Pilette and Jacquesyl. Traveled to Cap Haitien and were picked up and transported to Bod Me Limbe by our second hosts, Haiti Village Health. We had 2 days of clinic there. We saw 1438 patients over the five days. We had 88 referrals for cataracts, glaucoma, ptosis, pterygia, ectropion, trachoma and one conjunctival CA. The surgeons did 44 surgeries during the week at Justinean Hospital. We provided over 2658 pair of glasses during the 5 days of clinic and referred approximately 161 patients who needed to have cataract surgery. We witnessed many cases of blindness, either unilateral or bilateral; due to trauma, glaucoma, diseases, cataracts or unknown causes. Along with the glasses, we provided many donated bottles of drops including anti-allergy drops, artificial tears and glaucoma drops. We worked alongside the local clinicians and helped to educate them on how to use the drops and how to treat certain diseases.* REPORT |

In conjunction with FOR nicaraguan health (friends of rudy) and the clinica alabama....last year our group did 757 patients in 4 clinic days...surgeons did 54 eye surgeries..15 pacemakers and more ....plenty of time to go sightseeing..ziplining..volcano viewing ,,..great restaurants..beautiful colonial city...we also will have students from the local optometry school there helping us. *REPORT |

VOSH WI had a very successful mission to San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic. 1650 patients examined. 49 referrals for cataract surgery and 3 for corneal transplants. |
